Is open banking unsafe?
Open banking in the UK is regulated and uses secure APIs rather than sharing your password — it isn't inherently unsafe. But it does mean granting a third party ongoing read access to your accounts and transactions, and many people are simply not comfortable with that. Tsang Portal exists for those people: it gives you the dashboard without the data grant.
How does a finance app work without bank linking?
You enter or import your own figures. Add each account once, update balances when it suits you, and import transactions from CSV if you want detail. Market prices and exchange rates are fetched automatically for investments and multi-currency totals — those don't require any access to your accounts.
Isn't manual entry a lot of work?
Less than you'd think. Most households update balances monthly, which takes a few minutes — investments value themselves with market prices in between.
